On a drive up the western side of the Lake Michigan coast, from Chicago to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I stopped along the way to see the sun as it rose on the water. It was just cloudy enough to give the sun a moment of privacy before making an appearance and illuminating this rocky beach. I find the best moments are surprises.
