When I'm driving through the mountains, one of my favorite views is to look out at the tops of the trees. What a thrill to be driving through the sky and be at the level of towering evergreens and soaring birds. This view was inspired by a trip to North Carolina where I photographed the tops of large fir and spruce trees and a few "ghost trees" as well. It was a little foggy, so the distant mountains were not visible but the clouds made the deep green forest stand out even more.
